Why is the Bible Unique?
The Infallible
Authority of the Bible: The uniqueness of the Bible lies in its startling and exclusive
claims. Although I believe that the Bible is the Word of God and everything in it, it is
not my intention for this article to prove them. The Infallible Authority of the Bible:2 Timothy 3:16 Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. Hebrew 4:12 For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. John 5:39 Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me; [TOC] What the Bible has to say about God:Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness; because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them. For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, [even] his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse: 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Romans 8:29-30 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained [to be]
conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: and
whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and
whom he justified, them he also glorified. What the Bible has to say about Jesus:John 14:6-7 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this? Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in
heaven. What the Bible has to say about Holy Spirit:John 7:38-39 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet [given]; because Jesus was not yet glorified. Luke 11:11 And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask a loaf, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he for a fish give him a serpent? Or [if] he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Romans 8:6-8 For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the
Spirit is life and peace: because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is
not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be: and they that are in the flesh
cannot please God. What the Bible has to say about Sin:Romans 5:12 Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:-- 1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 3:22-24 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus
Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned, and
fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus: What the Bible has to say about Salvation:Acts: 4:12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved Romans 10:9-11 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved: for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame. Titus 3:5-6 not by works [done] in righteousness, which we did
ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and
renewing of the Holy Spirit, which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our
Saviour; What the Bible has to say about Faith:Hebrew 11:1 Now faith is assurance of [things] hoped for, a conviction of things not seen. Hebr 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in
God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and
cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith
cometh to pass; he shall have it. Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray
and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. What the Bible has to say about Works:Ephe 2:8-10 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, [it is] the gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them. Romans 11:5-6 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. 1 Corinthian 3:13-15 each man's work shall be made manifest: for the
day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each
man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work shall abide which he built thereon, he
shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he
himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire. What the Bible has to say about the Return of Christ:1 John 4:1-4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the [spirit] of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already. Ye are of God, [my] little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away. Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the
angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. And as [were] the days of Noah, so
shall be the coming of the Son of man. For as in those days which were before the flood
they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah
entered into the ark, and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so
shall be the coming of the Son of man. Then shall two man be in the field; one is taken,
and one is left: Click Who do they say I am? to know more about this person Jesus. Click The Way to Eternal Life when you are ready to invite Jesus to come into your life. |
