Romans
3:23
Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned, and fall short of the
glory of God;.
The public outcry in Singapore caused by the alleged financial
irregularities in City Harvest Church isn't the first and it won't be the last.
The truth is, we are all sinners and religious leaders are no exceptions based
on what had happened here and elsewhere in the recent past.
I acknowledge fully Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned, and fall short of the
glory of God;.
In our legal system, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Hence it is wrong for us to pass judgement publicly based on third parties'
reporting.
While there are many negatives that arise out of an event like this, I am
heartened by Romans 8:28 - And we know that to them that love God all things
work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.
As a Christian, I also learned the true meaning of John 8:7 - He that is without
sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her, and the
necessity of Luke 17:3 - Take
heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive
him.
For those who have sinned, we should not condemn them but to pray for their
repentance and restoration with God.
Mark 12:17
- And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are
Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's. And they marvelled greatly at
him, subjects us to the authority of our earthly
ruler.
The end cannot justify the means if the things we do are not in accordance to
the rules of law.
Romans 2:13 for not the hearers of the law are just
before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified:.
It's also our prayer that the leaders
and members of City Harvest Church will continue to love God
and to bring honor and glory to His name.
The only way to please God is to adhere strictly to what the Bible teaches,
discern the truths from falsehoods and not to follow blindly
what fallible
men want us to believe.
Galatians 6:7 - Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth,
that shall he also reap, is a timely reminder for me and for those of us who are
facing temptations of one kind or another.
Remember always, to put our faith in God and not
in men.
