Happy Marriage

Getting married is easy, staying married is hard.
Most couples will have no problem admitting that this is a fact of our marital life.

In my opinion, a breakdown in communications can easily lead to a broken marriage.
This breakdown in communication is usually caused by the couple not appreciating the strengths and not accommodating the short-comings of each other.
Familiarity breeds contempt and it becomes more obvious when the couple is staying together as husband and wife than when they were courting.

The way to a happy marriage can be found in Ephesians 5:22-25...

Ephesians 5:22-25
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

以弗所書 5:22-25
你们作妻子的，当顺服自己的丈夫，如同顺服主。
因为丈夫是妻子的头，如同基督是教会的头；他又是教会全体的救主。
教会怎样顺服基督，妻子也要怎样凡事顺服丈夫。
你们作丈夫的，要爱你们的妻子，正如基督爱教会，为教会舍己。

In short:
The husband's duty is to love his wife sacrificially despite her short-comings and to provide wise leadership in their relationship.
The wife's responsibility is to submit to her husband as the head of the household and to support him in his constructive causes.

It's not difficult to imagine what will happen to a marriage if any of these: love, leadership, submission and support is missing in a couple's relationship.

There is no better marital advices given anywhere, by anyone, at anytime, than in the Bible.
